Thirsty Downy and scary Gull

Found this red bellied using the leaf as his water supply.
The gull came begging for food the other day at the beach and I think he was mad I didn't give him all my grapes. he got a few feet away and started screaming at me.

That's an amazing gull shot, I think that is the secondary eyelid, or else hes' wearing contact lenses :D

Great catch of the Female Red Belly drinking from a leaf. Kind of surprised she let you that close. The gull shot is a keeper. :)

Thanks everyone for the nice comments, I find that the red bellied woodpeckers are the least skittish of the small birds I try to shoot and the gulls are pretty fearless.
