Hi all,
Thanks to Carltons post a few days ago, I easily found the flock of about 40 waxwings feeding on a large berried bush by the city center bus station. LOL.

Not the best shots but what a joy to hear these guys singing and see them feediing.
It was 7am and overcast so not the best conditions. 40d 70-200f4L IS +1.4tc and big crops.
Thanks for viewing and any comments. :)

Very good for a none IS lens with a converter on, did you use a tripod? or hand held? Lovely colours.

Thanks Mick, Sorry i missed the IS off in the details. Handheld out of my van window, the birds were sitting in a tall tree then dropping down to the berries between the buses hurling past. Not a normal wildlife stakeout. :)

Looks like he's over ordered on the berries good shots for those conditions.

Thanks arty, I was so chuffed to see these guys.

Thanks for the comments. :)

Thanks Redrib,
I'm very happy with these shots, (could be better of course!!) I only had about 10 minutes and 8 of them were waiting for the beauties to come down and feed. Took about 15 shots of which these are the best. Would loved to have had good light and an hour or two to spair.

Thanks for the comment I appreciate it. :)

No worries mate. I was in such a fluster at seeing these birds I was lucky to get a shot at all. :)

These have been a joy this Winter, they turn up mob handed empty the berry bush and are off as quickly as they came. You did well to capture them.

Nice shots Phil, glad you managed to catch them, the pro twitchers rekon there are enough berries left to last until Wednesday.
Dippers were showing well at the waterfall this morning, must take camera next time !
