I haven't seen anything like this here yet but maybe it already exists. It seems like it would be helpful to have a thread to aggregate positive feedback, such as the gear list thread is used by some people.

EDIT: this would be useful to maintain and slip into FS threads.

For example, a post might read:
-------
Positive Feedback:
10361
10441
etc...

-------
Is there already something similar here?

There is not one but you could create one like this:

Unfortunately most here do not leave feedback.
I have completed 40-50 transactions here and have like 7 feedback posts.

Jeev & Nick, that is something that certainly works and pretty much exactly what I was thinking. I just thought it would be something more suited for its own thread to reduce clutter and better organize. My gear list, for example, includes a long list of gear; having a separate thread for this, even if I include a link in my gear list, would not force people to look through my gear list to find my feedback links.

Justin_Thyme, I agree with that, but I also think that the feedback system here is not the easiest to understand immediately. For example, I made several purchases here before I even even knew there was a system for positive feedback. EDIT: putting this all in one place would eventually allow for a few sticky posts to give people information about this system, making the whole feedback system better for the entire community.

Additionally, as we know, we cannot store searches, so including a search in a FS post or a sig thread doesn't do anything except provide a dead link.

In any case, I will create a post below-- if other people want to do the same, cool; if not, then I'll have just my post to link to :)

No need for a post. You can just add a search link to your signature that people can click on, and it will do the search in the feedback at that time.

For example, here is the link for my feedback.

Ahh, better because that is a link to run the search again... links to previous searches don't work.

One problem is that sometimes people spell your ID wrong and it won't show up in a search. That has happened to me at least three times and it is why I don't want to use the search link. I do like the idea of listing your feedbacks in a single thread though, and wonder if it should be done in this thread or in the Positive Feedback thread (of if it even matters).

+1. One of my feedbacks appears to be correct, but still doesn't show up in search. I don't think it matters, since you'd be linking to the specific post not the entire thread... Also, I'd argue that it would be better to have a specific thread (like this) so as to not further clutter the positive feedback thread...

Yet I find myself strangely drawn to ask you all sorts of questions... as if a television commercial told me to!

I belong to another photo forum (same software as this forum) that allows you to leave feedback for users you do business with.

How it works:
You sell/buy and item. After your transaction you visit that user's profile and "leave feedback". You get to type in some comments, give a rating, then you copy in the URL of the "For Sale" thread. Every user in the system can see the feedback and the thread.

It seems to be working really well.

I put my main ones in my signature. Had to leave out a couple and will not be able to add more, but it works for the moment.

Edit: I suppose I could shorten the link names and probably get one more in (including the url) if I am lucky.

I guess another approach would be to make links in the gear list under the section some people (including myself) have, listing gear we used to own. But this wouldn't cover people who either sell a lot here, sell gear without really using it, or don't want this section in a gear list...

ozziepuppy, I prefer a signature that has a little less stuff in it.

All in all, it's splitting hairs. If people want to include a post here regarding it, I suppose they will (like I have). If not, not :)
