Kind of sad the way people have desecrated his grave over the years.

Traditionally, visits to burial places are all about the deceased. These vandals reveal their attitude: it's all about them.

Keep in mind the photo was taken in 1987. Croatian artist Mladen Mikulin sculpted the bust effigy of Jim Morrison for his grave in Père Lachaise cemetery to commemorate the 10th anniversary of his death. His death was tragic, and this may seem crazy now, but it seemed to be an appropriate way to show respect then. It looks very different now.

This link chronicles the history of the grave https://parismojo.fr …y-of-jim-morrisons-grave/ (external link)

So many wonderful posts, I don't know how to start...

But Phil and Lester, I must say that it's great to see you still in here, adding to what will always be a very special and personal thread to me, and, I hope, to many other POTN members too, over the years.

I'm afraid that after I sold all my Canon gear and basically pulled away from being a "semi-pro concert photographer", I hardly ever come to POTN :-(

Really should correct that....

But, my kindest regards to all.

Simon
