The Buddha is 120m (394 ft) tall. (At one time, the Ushiku Daibutsu was listed in the Guinness book of world records as the tallest bronze statue in the world, but I think that claim may no longer be accurate.) Thanks for adding....I was really confused for a moment as we have something similar near us. Here's a not-so-well-framed pic I took ages ago of our bronze buddha (must get out there again now I've better lenses!). "Whatever you do, enjoy yourself...otherwise, what's the point."

I think you've caught some wonderful angles and your use of colour makes a refreshing change, in that many (me included) seem to end up converting to B&W... Tom K. wrote in post #7553327 [too many great images to comment on!!!] Tom, your post #58 reminds me so much of the UK. Spookily similar in every way. Thanks for so many amazing shots. I particularly love the bokeh in the downward-looking angel(?) statue. And the lone cross of just "Alice" is stunning. "Whatever you do, enjoy yourself...otherwise, what's the point."

Thanks again. ![]() I am glad you enjoyed them. The one that really touches me is the 5th one I posted. It is the grave stone of Teresa Feldman who died at 6 years old in 1926. The stunning thing is that 83 years after she died someone still puts flowers on her grave. Please proceed, Governor.

Thank you for sharing. Scott Evans Photography

A touching piece of human emotion, I think. I also have to say I think you've got a fabulous background in that shot, too. The more I look at the background, the more details I'm seeing, such as the shadow of another grave to the right, and the layer-upon-layer of tombstones to the left. Briliant eye! Keep 'em coming. ![]() Thanks for the comments Canon 7D MkII, Canon G16,Canon 50mm 1.8, Canon 70-200mm f4L, Sigma 10-20mm Tamron 17-55mm f2.8, Canon 17-40, Canon 24-105
