Not sure what you use to export, but I use a lightroom export preset that always gets images small enough in size to upload, yet high enough quality for comment. Here are the settings (anything not listed is default or whatever you want):
Format: JPEG
Quality: 30
Color Space: sRGB
Resize to Fit: Long Edge (1000 Pixels, 240 PPI)
Sharpen for: Screen (Standard)
Add Copyright Watermark: check

I just highlight the images I want to attach here and export through this preset. They are always within the required file size.

Judging this will be no small feat haha. To be honest, they both look good but obviously its hard to tell.


5DII, 40D & XTi: 70-200 2.8L IS MKI, Tamron 28-75 2.8, Canon 17-40 F4L, 50 1.8, 580 EX II, and battery grips.

I think #1 looks like the colors are better.
Try uploading to flickr then linking to the larger images? It's easy!
