Protecting bodies for extreme dust & polluted environments?

How do you guys protect your bodies when exposed to a lot of dust & pollution? The first obvious step that comes to mind is not changing lenses often. What else?
I have a 40D which is mildly weather proofed, but I know taking it to extremely dusty places (I'm specifically referring to dirty urban centers & slums in India) and dust will inevitably enter.

Would an upgrade to a 1d Mk II or a 5d Mk II or something help?

Is there anything I can do? Gaffer tape any openings? Suggestions?

get a shooting bag and a weather sealed lens like the 16-35 or 70-200. those are more than enough for any shooting this side of being under water.

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

Even when shooting in nearly smoke/smog-filled environments?!

What do you mean a 'shooting bag'? Like a weather-proofed bag of some kind? I've got a Canon backpack, but I might opt for a Pelican or something better with space for a laptop for the flight...

something like that

smog isn't going to do anything to your camera if you properly clean it when you get back.

All my camera cases are pelican cases, they are a big pain getting thru security and customs at the airport. that's the only draw back to them. I never check my camera case- it goes where I go!

Question - is there any point in specifically buying weather-proofed lenses such as the 24-70 when I have a 40D which is only partially weather-proofed?
