lol

just a couple shots that you think are good examples of the kind of light the 135 throws. Most of the recent photos were with the DO and I'd like to compare the two. Thanks!

Here is an assortment of shots all done with the 135cm Midi Octa.

Just in case you're wondering about if a Mola Demi can be used on a Quadra, I just weighed mine and it weighs 3 oz more than the Deep Octa with both diffusers. I'd been wondering but the weight isn't hanging so far out creating leverage so the Mola still might work.

If you do a search, the 135cm Octa has already been featured several times in the Elinchrom threads. All these were taken with the Midi Octa only (no other lights):

As you can see, the light depends entirely on what you do with the Octa (where you position it, etc). It's an easy modifier to work with, and one of my favourites. I haven't been using the Midi Octa for beauty wrk lately, so no pretty girls from me, I'm afraid. Although Bat Girl was pretty spectacular... :)

A Sekonic L348? Must have been some experimental version.. lololol

It's the ugly person model.

And broken too.. no reading whatsoever..lol..

VERY slow response time, though.

Here is an assortment of shots all done with the 135mm Midi Octa.

The L348 is killer when paired with the 135mm MO. Perfect shots, every time!

cheers, juice (Canon shooter, Elinchrom lighter, but pretty much agnostic on brands.)

You are correct Sean. There is no bed in my studio. The bed is in Studio B. ;)

went to the beach this weekend for a bikini calendar shoot and it was PITA to use lightstand in the sand and water. Shot 14 girls in 4 days.

Ended up using on camera speedlight for this shot (external link). Burned out an SB600 speedlight in 5 minutes also. Speedlights suck ;)
Used natural light for this shot (external link)b/c we were in the water. But there wasn't alot of great natural light except sunrise/sunset.

So I was bummed that I couldn't use my Quadra most of the time. Light from the Quadra bulb is so much better than a speedlight. Just got the Manfrotto 233B (external link). It's lightweight and swivels 360 degrees. Serviceable solution for extreme run and gun...

Wow that is awesome, I haven't seen that product before. I can see that working perfectly for in the water beach stuff. Which I'm planning on doing alot over Summer.

That is pretty sweet looking! I'm just imagining using it with a full size Ranger and a Maxispot. Now THAT would be some serious on-camera flash! :)

I want your babies Peter!

This looks like a great solution and a hell of alot cheaper then the new RRS QR flash bracket coming out.
