Gotta love the housewares department! Corningware makes a bowl whose cover fits the hood of an EF 500mm f/4L PERFECTLY. Meanwhile, the cover to a Pyrex 2 cup bowl fits over an Elinchrom mount equally PERFECTLY. Local store security probably thinks I have some kind of Rubbermaid fetish.

You with the Tupperware, me with the battery packs... Not that there is anything wrong with it! ;)

It's true! I own a few of those pyrex lids as well. I think my wife is still wondering why all her lids dissappeared. :D

Here are a couple of quick shots of my new Corning Ware caps. They are a nice tight fit and seem to provide good protection. I feel much better about throwing the heads in my bag now.

Since I know others will ask, what is the Corning Ware part number of that lid?

Under the lid it says:

V-16-PC
F-16-PC

The diameter at the bottom of the lid is 5.5".

Hope that helps. I've used lids like these for my big Canon lenses, and I definitely trust using these on my Quadra heads.

I found Bed, Bath and Beyond to have a very limited selection. You may get lucky but I ended up searching the web for Pyrex and Corning Ware and came up with huge selection and better pricing that retail stores. Also, many retailers don't sell the lids alone. Most of the time they are bundled with the actual Corning Ware or sold in sets.

I found mine at Walmart, but I did have to buy them with bowls. My cat has a new dish now.

That's the exact place I found the Pyrex lids to use over the Elinchrom bayonet mount on my beauty dish.

Great prices and you can buy just the lids.

It also shows the modifier bracket for larger softboxes.

Do you think that Scott Kelby could have his head any further up Mark Astmann's.....

I'll stop there and be a good boy.
