Thanks folks. I really have been going crazy watching these birds. I have Crossbills, Pigmy Nuthatches, Pine Siskins, Chicadees, and Doves daily since I ordered the lens. I have taken some shots with my old Quantaray 70-300, but it just isn't cutting it.

Now that you have the lens, show us some of those bird pics you were trying for.

Since I got the lens the weather turned and the birds have been kinda scarce. I did get a couple of Crossbill shots but the light was bad and I had to use flash (difused). Here they are. The second one is a crop.

Heey Bullfrog. You misunderstood me. I didn't intend to roll my eyes at you. I was looking up at you. A little touchy today are we?

I ordered mine two weeks ago and just found out the stores order got screwed up and it won't be here in time for me to take it on vacation. I was so upset as all I have is my 18-55 kit lens. I told the guy I probably could have got it faster on-line. He was so nice and told me that he wouldn't blame me for doing just so. I told him no to worry because I leave for my holidays on Sunday so now it is to late to get it else where. He felt so bad that he told me to come to the shop Saturday and he would give me a loaner for the two weeks I go on holidays.
Awesome that he cares enough to lend me one as it is not his fault the shippers screwed up his order.
So I guess I will see what telephoto lens he loans me in the morning. Still sad that I didn't get my new one tho.
But at least I will have something.
