Okay, I'm not really a 'people person' when it comes to photography, so it was with much hesitation that I agreed to join my wife, her girlfriend and her girlfriend to photo the latter getting her first tattoo.

The lighting was like a cross between a disco and a dirty book store. Quite challenging! That's the nice thing about photographing a pretty girl...even if the photo is messed up, she's still pretty.

That said, I am looking for ways to improve my 'people skills'...so please comment freely. (especially on ways to handle goofy neon lighting!)

#1 rocks.

#2 doesn't work at all, after seeing 1.

I love #3.

#4 confuses me.

This space for rent.

Thanks for that. Yeah, #4 I initially didn't like either. As it turns out, it was her favorite. From a purely objective standpoint, I can see how #4 only works if you were there. The picture is of her looking in the mirror and seeing her tattoo for the first time and breaking into mild hysterics. I guess it was her favorite because it brought back that memory, but to a third party it is, just as you say, confusing. A good lesson learned on my part.

I like no. 1 as well. The look on her face is nice.

So, where are the actual tattoo photos?
I'm curious here.

Per request....
(Hardly a full body wrap...but she likes it)
Those are musical notes arranged in the star pattern...each note a color of the rainbow. The green smudge is not part of the tattoo.

I like the subject of number 1 but not of number two. I cant find the focus for number 3 (is there one?) and number 4 just doesnt fit.
