Had to fly out to New York to shoot an assignment for work, after I was done with work I walked over to the World Trade Center site and made some pictures.

I talked to a security guard at the site who worked in tower 1 up until 2 weeks before the attacks when he was transferred to the Empire State Bldg. He lost 2 co workers in the attack. He even showed me where the planes came in from and what buildings they flew between. I didn't have much time to check the place out as I was only in NYC for the day and had to catch an early flight back to San Diego. I would have liked to spend all day there.

Lately it's been all work and no play.

As for the images.. they are great.. I like the speeding people past, for some reason i think it would have such an effect on someone if you had someone stand still looking at it and then do it... that would be kinda amazing... lol Good call mate. But as a working photojournalist, I usually try and blend in and shoot life as it is. Shooting an environmental portrait like that is a sweet idea! Thanks for the inspiration. I'll tag Canonnoob in the source line of my iptc data if I get an assignment where I can use that. Cheers mate.

Maybe not for you folks that are "non fire fighters" but that shot speaks volumes. Canon 40D, Rebel XT, Kit lens, EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM, 50mm F/1.8II, 28-135mm 3.5-5.6 IS USM
