So, I decided to get the J-35 Jones Flash Bracket. I have a friend who has one and he let me use it for a few days. I liked it well enough and apparently stores don't have flash brackets on display to try. So, I went with what I knew. I ordered it direct from the company this past Friday and they shipped it priority for $6. I received it on Monday! All the way from Washington to Pennsylavania (I was impressed). I called them for a bit of technical assistance and the same person who takes the orders knew exactly what to tell me to do and got me all set up. I just wanted to point out the company and the fact that they do a good job. I know a lot of you are not interested in this bracket, but I wanted to give credit where it was due.

Somewhat like RRS and Custom Bracket, though the curved portion forms a full circle rather than partial arc. The penalty is greater weight. 24 oz is putting too much weight on for a full day (my one and only day of coverage with a similar weight Stroboframe was followed immediately with selling it). A few hours might be more acceptable.

I really do not know what it's going to be like for several hours. But I will find out this weekend. As Wilt said, it's 24 oz., so I guess you can decide if you can handle it. I will have the camera strap around my neck when I am not shooting, so that should save my arms a bit. If I ever get a chance to try anotherb rand, maybe I will sell it too. But for now, this will work for me.

i know this is an older thread, but i searched for this bracket and it came up, so i'm gonna add my comment to this thread.

I worked a wedding last night and the photographer had this bracket mounted to a monopod. i caught him during his break and asked him about it, he gave me the name of the company, and let me fiddle with it. i gotta say i like it.. alot, i plan on buying this one in the future. his was very well used, so it looks like it can put up with some abuse, and the camera rotation was very fluid. and mounted to the monopod it seemed to work great.

all in all it seemed like a very good setup, and one i definitely wouldn't mind having down the road a bit.

found the monopod i think.. it was very similar to this one here:

Yeah, I am happy with mine. You just have to get over the whole "I don't look like most of the other guys with a bracket" syndrome. Yeah, looks a little funny.
