Historic Marietta Square is a popular spot for Engagement Portraits in the North Atlanta area. Those who work in Atlanta, know. It provides variety of places with colorful brick walls, railroad tracks, old buildings and even some greenery.

Here is my last engagement portrait session in Marietta, GA, I'd like to share:

As always, your comments and critique are appreciated. First of all, this couple was wonderful. 70% of the credit goes to them. They are very creative and always cool looking... :)

I think you'e really brought out the personalities of your subjects with this shoot. Nice mix of processing. Super use of locations and backgrounds. Big +1 for the passing train.

But I have to ask: Why must 98% of your horizons be off kilter? A few for dramatic effect is one thing but I found myself feeling like I was in a bobbing boat through most of the slideshow...

Terrific looking couple, and awesome location. I didn't even notice the angles so much until reading the comments, so I guess it really didn't bother me.

Just a great shoot.

Slava,

Very well done. I loved the 2nd photo with the moving train in the background.

Marietta is a fun town...I was there on Saturday visiting my family on vacation...had chili dogs at the Varsity...yum!

Thanks for compliments everyone.

Jay, thank you for bringing up the tilting. I noticed that, as well, when I picked 21 shots from the session for my web, and I thought nobody would notice :). Except for the picture #9, all of the images are somehow rotated.

Most people don't like strait vertical or horizontal lines in portraits (including me) so I tilt almost everything including photos taken with long zoom lens (only two or three degrees for those, though). In urban environment it becomes more prominent than if the session were photographed in a park. I'm sure if you saw just one picture from the set you wouldn't have pointed to tilting. Seeing it on all together drags the attention. Well, I'll have to work on that... Thanks again for the good point.

My pleasure...

Stunning work on your part. I think the slant is probably more noticeable when watching the slideshow than had I jumped around picking and choosing. The transition from one image to the next made it more pronounced.

Continued success...you're doing great work!
