Well, I finally got my new 40D (refurbed) on Monday but it was rainy so I had to wait to use it yesterday but again it was very overcast, nasty and even rainy for most of the day...the rain/drizzle stopped long enough for me to run out and snap some "lucky" duck shots...C&C much appreciated (even if they are just ducks)

This is pic 001 from the 40D

Not sure if this one should be titled: "Spartans Grab your Masks" or "The Headless Duckman" ...am I crazy thinking that it looks sorta like those armor masks they used to wear?

[Sigh] "I hate paparazzi,...now get them out of here because I don't want my picture taken"

Anyone have any idea why my EXIF info didnt remain intact? I uploaded from Lightroom 2.3 to flickr via the Flickr Export Plugin by Jeffrey Friedl and also used Mogrify by Timothy Aames for the borders and watermark...I could have sworn that I have uploaded like this before and the EXIF remained intact...so if anyone has any ideas to try so it stays intact going forward would be great.

TIA and enjoy(hopefullY)

Congrats on the 40D. Great camera as evidenced by these images. Really great detail and sharpness. I think overcast works to your advantage with shots like these. It's a lot easier to handle the whites and other highlights. By the way, the first mallard hen shot (#5) has incredible detail.

Shooting with more great Canon gear than I deserve.
I don't need a second childhood. I'm not finished yet with the first one.

Thank you very much...also I probably should say that these were all taken with my 100-400 and all are at 400mm

well you know what since the EXIF isnt available I thought I would pool it together here

EDIT: All are hand held except the first image(monopod)...and the only one that was cropped a bit was shot #3 because it was just a bit to centered.
