I would absolutely LOVE #2 if you rotated it 90 degrees CCW. Very cool.. you also may want to consider cloning out the stray hair or two on her shirt.

#2 is fabulous....if it were rotated it would look odd with her hair? As it is now, just fine.

you're a great friend, but if Zombies chase us, I am tripping you.

I'm going to vote for #2 but rotated 180 degrees.

Just tried it, and yep, a complete flip looks great!

Both gorgeous shots, you've captured a wonderful quality of innocense .. I agree that #2 would have an even stronger impact if rotated.

Got up this morning and read your replies. So I gave it a try. I agree it looks a lot better. This is why I like this forum, I never thought about rotating it. Thanks for the help and the kind words.

Excellent image.

I'm sure you tried this already, but I would try two things:
1) Remove the 2nd light source from the eyes.
2) Try it with 1/3 less exposure to see if you can get a little more shadow to give the face more contour.

I could be totally wrong though.

I agree with the shadow / contour statement, the face does look a tiny bit flat...

Something happened between the first photo you posted, and this rotated one? You lost some color and contrast?

I resized the first two on my laptop and the last one was on my desktop, don’t know if that is the reason or not?
As far as the lights, I well give it a try. Would it work if I move the light a little to the left or right to get more shadows?

No editing done, just tried taking it from your last shot and rotate for a difference..

I know you don;t have Image Edit enabled.so I will take it down if you wish...just wanted to see if the color was lost from the original.

90 degree rotation is my favorite

On #1, I am curious what lense you used. She is quite nice but it seems her face is distorted from you being too close with a wider angle. It could also be the angle.

So much "stuff" - so little time

First one was with a 50D with a 70-200 IS USM 2.8 it is my favorite lens. The second one was with a 50D with a 28-135 IS USM 3.5 on a ladder shooting over the top of her. Do you think the 70-200 is to long for studio work?

No you don’t have to take it down I like it. But I think I like the 90 degree rotation the best. Her and her mom liked it to.
Thanks for all your replies and you help.

No such thing, but in this case the "zoom" part was wasted as there is no subject to background to compress. I've seen many photographers use the 70-200 f/4 -- so I'm sure the 2.8 is fine for it too.
