The price tag of 595 (includes dongle) looks pretty steep, i just know what people think of it?

Is it the same as the old Lucis Art?

It gives you the same effects but more, instead of a small plugin, it's a whole package that gives you more control, i'm looking into it, but they say on their site they do not give out demos due to piracy, and you need a dongle (usb security fab) to run it.

I had thought that most software companies stopped using dongles years ago because they were hated by so many people.

As to the package, sorry I cannot say but can only comment an educated guess based upon experience. I have the latest LucasArt plugin in PS. The usability of the effects are limited and highly specialized. If I were to take that filter and increase its functionality and abilities 5x times, it would still not be worth any where near 600 bucks.

Hell, you can get PHOTOSHOP for 600 bucks! Somebody within that company was smoking something funny the day they set the pricing. Totally unrealistic when compared to something like NIK Silver Efex Pro which is half the price and is probably one of the most useful filters on planet earth.
