I just bought a generic grip from ebay for my new XS. I haven't received it yet, but i was just wondering if anyone has any experience with generic grips?

I have a Phottix Grip from Ebay and it's awesome. Hasn't come off my XSi yet (and it balances my 70-200 out a LOT better).

I also have the Phottix, amazing quality for the price, i have no intentions of moving up to the Canon one.

I should hopefully be getting it in a few days, maybe on tuesday or wednesday. I'm looking forward to it. I have an Elan 7 with the canon grip and I can't shoot without one, it feels so awkward moving from a larger camera to a much smaller one, hopefully the grip will make the difference.

I have a YongNou grip for the XSi/450D (which would be the same grip you need for the XS/1000D). So far have had it for 6 months and have yet to experience any problems with it. I did try and do a little research on the grip after I got it, what I found seems to point to the grip being a Phottix grip without the Identification plate (YongNou just uses a blank plate with no markings at all, leading me to believe they may be a manufacturer for Phottix, or they use the same factory in China as Phottix).
