I just bought a generic grip from ebay for my new XS. I haven't received it yet, but i was just wondering if anyone has any experience with generic grips?

Hasn't come off my XSi yet (and it balances my 70-200 out a LOT better). 7D | XSi + Phottix Grip | 400 F/5.6 | 70-200 F/4 | Sigma 30 f/1.4 | Sigma 10-20 f/4-5.6 |430ex | Horusbennu C-2830V | Photo Clam PC-33

Mar 19, 2009 23:42 | #6 I should hopefully be getting it in a few days, maybe on tuesday or wednesday. I'm looking forward to it. I have an Elan 7 with the canon grip and I can't shoot without one, it feels so awkward moving from a larger camera to a much smaller one, hopefully the grip will make the difference. Craig Sharp

So far have had it for 6 months and have yet to experience any problems with it. I did try and do a little research on the grip after I got it, what I found seems to point to the grip being a Phottix grip without the Identification plate (YongNou just uses a blank plate with no markings at all, leading me to believe they may be a manufacturer for Phottix, or they use the same factory in China as Phottix).
