What is the best lens deal you ever got?

The Brick 24-70 2.8 L for $750 after ebay/Live cashback

I got an absolutely pristine 20-35L from Craigslist for $450. It was almost 20 years old, but looked brand spankin' new. I ended up selling it for a small profit

picked up a 70-200mm F4 non-IS for $400 today. off to the beach to try it out!

Swapped mate his EF 50mm F/1.8 II for a bottle of scotch as he was going over to Nikon.. The bottle cost me 9USD here in Vientiane..

BTW,,it was a litre bottle of Chivas..

80-200 f2.8 L "Drainpipe" with some tiny pitting on front element and filter ring bent for $190.00 about 9 mos. ago on ebay. The pits on front glass have absolutely no effect on pics and this lens a phenomenal performer ! And it's BLACK to boot ! Easily as good sharpness and color wise as my 300 f/4 L.

whats the "rest"of the story?

Wow, some of you guys really get great deals. I thought mine was good before seeing this thread, now I think mine are weak. But here:

Not a lens, but I picked up a 5D, Canon grip and several OEM batteries for $800 shipped as a backup camera. It's a bit brassed but was cleaned and calibrated by CPS just before the sale.

Sigma 24-60 f/2.8 off amazon for $220. (new!)

Also my 70-200 f/4L I picked up used for $450 CAD.. my favorite lens I own.

17-40 650$ Like new
50 1.8 85$ New

picked up a 50 1.8 Metal for 55$

Version one 400mm L f2.8 for $2000. Scarred exterior but heart of prime optical glass. "Bolo" ain't scared of nothing.

paid 450 for a 70-200 f4L

paid 600 for a 28-70 2.8L

got my 5D body with grip/2 batteries for 1400 (less than 3k clicks at time of purchase.)

Man, some great deals on the 70-200 f4 L. I've been looking for a while and haven't found anything decent (minus someone on here who's selling his).

Man. These are crazy deals!
