Not a lens, but at a garage sale I got a manfrotto tripod and head for $10.
It was stolen from my car and insurance asked me what a new one cost - and gave me $6-800for it to spend at a camera store.

I bought a used 70-200 2.8 L IS for $950 from CL. Turns out it was stolen, so the police took it. In return I got a few thousand best friends on POTN and a donated 70-200 2.8 L IS Mark II. Yeah...pretty awesome. Signed, The luckiest guy in the world. Thanks to all again. Nice that it worked out, and I love to see reward go to those who did the right thing.

I bought it used, only a few months old in perfect condition, still in warranty at half price and found the first owner had never registered the lens or applied for the cash-back. As far as Canon were concerned I was the first owner, so I got the cash-back as well. Richard

Apparently this old lens is a bit of a gem, so now I'm waiting anxiously for my adapter to put it on my new 5D2. I know, I really don't need that lens
