Winding Beach wedding...How to deal with it?

I have a beach wedding I am shooting tomorrow and its forecasted to be really windy, 20-25 mph on the coast. This is a small wedding, 8-10 people total. I plan on using the boardwalks going out to the beach for some shots but I would like to get some on the beach near the water itself, but I am afraid wind isn't going to help things..

Whats the best way to deal with this? Any insider secrets anyone want to share?

Make sure she has something to stop her hair being in front of her face. Other than that try to find shelter, and if the wind's all over her face try having them kissing.

shoot with your back to the wind, it'll keep sand out of your gear and blow her hair back(like in the movies)

Works great with slight breezes, but I've found that with high winds (like the 20-25 MPH winds forecasted) you don't want it blowing directly in their faces... it makes them squint, and their eyes water... not to mention sure, you don't get sand in your gear, but it blows into their faces instead.

+1... shelter will be your best bet. Find a building to hind behind which will block most of the wind, etc...

The boardwalk path out to the beach is pretty sheltered with trees so I dont think that will be too much of an issue, but on the beach itself...it will be...cold front coming in right off the water... Should be interesting... Thanks for the tips!

If the wind is coming off of the ocean, watch the salt spray on your front element... keep hoods on your lenses. Oh, and clean your gear real good to remove any salt residue as soon as you get home...

Thanks, I keep the hoods on all the time anyways... and I have a bunch of the Zeiss cleaning tissues as well.

Ok, it was windy, but not like they forecasted...Are weatherman ever right? Anyways. I got some great shots and was able to use the wind to my advantage on a couple so all went well. I did have trouble with shadows however, as the sun was too my back, so will be spending some time cloning out shadows...

when i shoot on a beach, i always go for wind first (cant get a good shot with hair, veil etc blowing in brides face), then lighting. i try have bride fast upwind with groom upwind of bride (so dress doesnt wrap around his legs). i carry some white clothes pins to help pin that veil down!!
after those shots, ill try to get some with better lighting but either remove veil or pin it down. hair u have to get some bobby pins to stop those stray strands from getting in the way.

i shoot on the beach almost every wedding (live in Hawaii) so im used to it...
