This view is from the southern end of Denali National Park, Alaska. The view is looking generally northeastward to get the light of the morning sun across the mountain peaks. This view is east of the largest peak, Mount McKinley, which is out of the field of view about forty five degrees to the left.

This is one of those places on my list of "have to visit". Beautiful image, the lighting is fantastic.

Excellent, with gorgeous light.

Worth cliking on the larger image, as the smaller image doesn't do it justice.

Concentrate on equipment and you'll take technically good photographs. Concentrate on seeing the light's magic colours and your images will stir the soul. - Jack Dykinga

Thanks for the comments, guys. I don't know whether it is the PBase algorithms for resizing images down or if it is because of the great amount of detail in the image, but the difference between the small and large images is much more significant than I would have expected to see. By comparison, the smaller 800 pixel wide image seems rather drab and doesn't seem to show the light as well as the larger version.

The version that I really like is the original full size, but I decided to NOT load that one on PBase since it is sort of like looking through a keyhole unless you have a large screen monitor.

It is a very beautiful place with much to see and photograph, but I would recommend going to the interior around Denali a bit later in the the year than when I was there. It was still fairly cold and the trees had just barely started turning green in the southern area of Denali... and the grass was still the brown wet matted down stuff from the previous year and did not photograph very well.
