Even tho they have the equiv focal length, am I expecting different prospect in the same/similar picture?

Switching from film to digital (XSi as my first DSLR), I found Sigma 30mm is brilliant but seems lacking something, (might be a thinner DOF, or better bokeh)

The DOF isn't quite as thin as FF/50L. That and the 50L opens up even more.

Sigma 30mm on a 1.3 crop is a thing of beauty though. But it needs to be used at wider apertures before vignetting sets in.
