I'd love to see an image from a 'kit' lens such as 28-135 IS, and same composition, distance, etc taken with a good prime or L lens, prepared and displayed here in a fair, unbiased manner.
I will be buying a couple of 'good' ones regardless of what I see here, but I think such a display would be quite interesting.

haha well that was an after thought i was just going to stick with the mid range tamron 70-200 2.8 as top to show you dont need to spend a ton to have great sharp images, boken (sp) lol i really love the tamron 70-200 alittle noisey in the focus and not as quick as an 70-200 L 2.8 but for the money .. its "bling bling"
then well who doesnt love L glass and models lol

I've done this with my 28-135 and my Nifty Fifty. No contest--the prime kicks the zoom's @$$ with boot to spare. But my 28-135 still stays on my camera 90 percent of the time. It's a good lens, it just can't compete with the top of the line (or even the cheap-but-excellent Nifty).
