Does anyone know what might cause this :/ I've not done anything with this photo its straight out of the camera
It seems to have just started happening and doesnt happen all the time... :S
Camera also seems to be intermittent with issues with way over exposing even when shooting on AV mode F7.1 :/ could it be on its way out?

I know when shooting in the studio if the shutter speed is too fast to sync it has banding the entire length of one side... but this seems to only go part way ?

This was taken from a wedding a month ago.. I used it today and it doesnt seem to have done it but still... it seems to be doing other weird things like the exposure is all up the poo in some images.
And err yeah might need to take you up on that offer.. even just to have it on hand if something happens.. :/ We've worked out it must be up around 80-85K shots so could be time...

Certainly looks like shutter, incorrectly exposed (presume overexposed) is a symptom of it sticking/catching as well, time for a visit to the doctor

Your shutter speed is too short for the giant skystrobe :p

No, I really don't know what is up with that....
Could be a shutter or mirror problem....

It's not the drop off time, it's the time without a camera :(

usually some shutter speeds aggravate the problem, which could be why you see it sometimes, and sometimes not. I believe stopping down the lens can also help to show the problem, whereas fast apertures can sometimes hide it.

Shoot at high shutter speeds and small apertures to see if you can replicate it regularly.
