It was only 5 bucks, so I figured what the hell...I've been needing one lately. It arrives today, I plug it in, and turn the camera on - camera goes nuts and continuously releases the shutter.
Symptoms are: If the camera is on, and the remote shutter is plugged in - it will fire the shutter, regardless of the button position.
Any help on this? Does the camera have a function on it that needs to be switched?

Also, if I just bought a dud (very well might be for five bucks), what do you guys recommend??
