so I just figured out that lightroom uses your current IE internet settings !!!
I couldnt figure out why my pc was not uploading with the smugmug plugin but then figured out thats why
On my computer I use IE at work and I have it setup to use our proxy server because some of our intranet sites wont work properly with firefox. I know that I can just disable the proxy every time but it would be better if I could figure out how to stop Lightroom from using the IE settings and just go straight to the internet 
I did some searches and I have not found anything about this so if someone knows and would like to share that would be great
its not in the LR preferences that I can find
