Was out this morning before the clouds rolled in. Handsome male flew by and I got him.

You nailed those shots, excellent, that's what I'm aiming at, what were the shot details.

WOW!! super. If you were shooting something else, you'd have dinner!

Some stuff that says "Canon" on it and a happy trigger finger.

artyman: 400ISO @ f5.6 with 1/800 shutterspeed. 40D body using the 100-400 zoom set at about 370mm. IS was turned off. handheld panning. All of the focus points were active not just the center one. I find I catch more birds in flight if I have a little extra help.

Thanks for all the positve feedback. Now a HELP question. I know the first picture is a bit on the soft side. How do I go about possibly sharpening it up a a tad? New to the world of Photoshop.

The colors of the Wood Duck are astounding, and your capture is equally so.

Sam: got this one at Sandy Ridge. Maybe we will cross paths sometime. It would be fun shooting with others from the POTN.

Looks like you nailed that second shot. These sure are some beautiful ducks. I have been dying to get somewhere and shoot some of these.

I am over in Summit county Myself, Maybe I will head over there next weekend if the weather and sun allow it.

Pat, you word things so well! My sentiments exactly.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".
