Battery Charging Question

I have a new SD300. My question is this:
after I charge the battery in the supplied charger (light turns green), must I remove the battery, or can I leave it in the charger (plugged in) indefinitely? The manual is not clear on this. It only says that I need to remove the battery from the charger after unplugging the charger. But makes no statement concerning leaving the battery in a plugged-in charger.

My s50 manual says I can leave the battery in for a maximum of 24h. I've no idea on sd300 charger but I think they're similars. The point is you don't have to worry about charging times and watch every minute the led if it turned to green to avoid battery overheating. No, at the time led turns green charging current will stop, battery will start cooling down.

Thanks for the reply.
I would hope that when the LED turns green, the charger would at least provide a trickle current to maintain state of charge, but nowhere is this mentioned.
I can't find any technical information on this particular charger (although it very well might be similar to yours).
