No. 1 has a slight blur on the wings but 2 looks very good to me except that had it been coming into frame not going out it might look better. I do know how hard these are so well done.

I have no problem whatever with the action blur of the wings in the first image. The non-flapping parts are in focus and sharp so that's good. Second one I understand you wanted to include the splashing of the water as it took off. Always difficult: you want a bird to have space to fly into, yet there's the interesting action behind it. I like it as it is, but that's me. The goose is a bit underexposed though and from the neck up it's a bit of a black silhouette really. I would try to brighten that up a bit, see if you can at least bring out the eye. Having said that, Brian is right in that these are difficult, so well done indeed.

I find the colouring of these sort of geese make it very difficult to get a well exposed shot. I guess you could play with the background and subject in Photoshop, but I'm no expert with that. I would be pleased with a couple of shots like that.

Thanks for the critique. As for the second shot, I could retry my crop to give it some space to fly into.

Nice Series, both are good the wing blur doesn't bother me. I like the second crop better on the second one.
