Hi, I was wondering if you could give me your thoughts on this camera. I have an opportunity to buy one at about 10% of it's original price. I understand these were great cameras. As of now I own a 450D and (hopefully) plan on getting a 50D next year. I want an "art" shot camera ;)

its a bit old...

Slow...

Bad AF...

Bad rear screen...

Antique interface...

Er...so how much are you paying? Youd be better served looking for a 30D..

10% of the original price is still about 350 bucks... you can find used 20d for that price, why bother with something made three years before with lower stats everywhere than even an XT (which can be found for less than 350)

Canon made a D60 before they went to xxD naming schemes

Actually, isn't it $250, since I am pretty sure it was $2495.
I owned one and I wouldn't pay $250 for it when a 20D can be had for about that price or a few bucks more.

OK. well I've narrowed that down. I'm going to delete the D60 idea from my brain.

Keep the money and get your 50d sooner, you won't regret it.

Doesn't the 50D have noise issues from the 40D and 450D though?

Like i said, about 3500, since 358000 yen~3500 bucks. Other than that, we agree on 20d over D60.

The Canon D60 was my very first DSLR. :-) It was the bomb back then when I bought it, ... until Canon went out on a tear and released a strong succession of better and cheaper versions/iterations. I have a 450d now but that D60 is still around. In fact I still use it whenever I go out on my mountain bike or attempt something where I don't want to put the newer camera at risk. A lot more times, it just sits there on my shelf but I refuse to get rid of it for sentimental reasons.

But having said all that, --- I suggest you spend your money elsewhere. :-)
