Some folks expressed interest in seeing more "good news" pics from Iraq, so here are some. Unfortunatly the quality wasn't very good, I was on Goverment time when I was taking these and the Air Force was forcing me to use their junk camera.

The first few are of humanitarian assistance food deliveries. I won't get on a soap box on media not showing the good things we're doing, but here is some evidence for you to make up your own mind.

The next series is just to give you the flipside of what the enemy is doing.
the first pic is of a mosque in Fallujah. It was being used as a weapons storage area and as an improvised explosive device (IED) factory. A clear violation of international treaties. The next is a vehicle being turned into a car bomb, and the last is another mosque being used as a bomb factory, notice the wheelchair, it was being rigged up to be used in a suicide bombing.

Thanks for the pics. Its great to see those guys smiling there. As you say, we are entirely at the mercy of the media, most people will never really see a fair impression of Iraq at the moment.
But its good to see your pics, thanks!

...the Air Force was forcing me to use their junk camera.

I'd have told then to shove it! "I don't tell you how to fly your aircraft, & you don't tell me how to take pics." But that's just my diplomacy working. ;-)a

Unfortunatly, I DO tell them how to fly our aircraft!

And it was even worse that a N!k@n, an OLD olympus camedia. prob in the 1-2 MP range. But it was better than subjecting my camera to a sandstorm.

Thanks a bunch. Really appreciate seeing photos uncensored by the media. Why is it the national media doesn't show this stuff? Just what is their agenda?

I think every generation of media producers thinks the way to fame and fourtune is to try a different tactic every time there is a war. So we end up with peaks and valleys when it comes to getting support from them. They supported the country during WWII, didn't support us (probably justly) during Vietnam, supported us again in Desert Storm, didn't support Somolia, supported Afghanistan, and now they are back to critizing this war in Iraq. Its all a game for ratings for them.

Personally I don't think a camera forum is a place for politics.....I come here to get away from that stuff....But hey...that's just my opinion...Yours may differ.

Keep 'em coming! Politics aside, there are some awesome photo ops there (although I couldn't bring myself to take my camera there, damned sand gets in everything!!!!!). If it happens your photos show something other than what the media is trying to put forth, so be it! There's 3 sides to every story!
