Cool!

BTW, I'm old -- Does a Magnaflow make noise?

haha thanks. The noise depends on the setup of the whole exhaust system. In my case it makes a bit of noise but nothing stupid like the people who mod their hondas and stuff.

Looking good. Wouldn't hurt to lower it a little bit tho :)

What engine is it?

Despite the generalization of all modded hondas having stupid exhaust, the cars looks clean. We have guys around here that drive their volvos to death. Good to see someone taking care of one.

It's just the 2.9, considered lowering it, but it will mess with the smooth ride too much.

I can tell because I have the same ones. And I don't take tire decisions lightly. It is afterall the only part of the touching the road, why cheap out?

Well, the weld on the front pipe to muffler looks interesting...:)

Level out the horizon in shot one, the car is leaning right a bit too much.

Keep an eye on that timing belt! I was considering Volvo V70(XC) and S80 T-6s until I realized the inline engines have an interference design with a belt(!?!). I thought the auto industry learned to avoid that combo. back in the early '80s.

What do you mean about the weld? Also, we bought it new in 2001. No problems!

Nice looking car there Scott - now I'll have to go out and get some shots of my V70. Been wanting one for about 10 years and with the dealerships doing slash and burn deals, one finally became affordable. :D I don't know a whole lot about tires, but looking at the tread pattern are those "Z" rated? I'm also old like Horton... did you pick the magna flo for it's "tone" are does it actually do something different than the standard Volvo performance? - Stu

The weld looks a little less than professional.

Good luck with the car. I never considered Volvos as fun cars until I worked as an engineer at their main automatic transmission supplier (Aisin AW) and realized I was wrong; I did lots of driving in an S60 T-5.

I felt the same way - although a wagon (based on the S80) I find the V70 to be quite nimble, agile and powerful for it's size and weight. And those seats are like "buttah..."

I'm not sure what the tires are rated actually. And the exhaust adds a nice sound to it. Maybe a few horsepower as well
