Two High School pitchers from today's game. They surely put everything they have into their pitching.
Thanks for looking. Comments and advice appreciated.

The 3rd baseman, ss and second baseman for this team stood about 3 feet apart, directly behind the pitcher during the warm up time. I knew it was happening, but this was the only time I could stand just to the left and behind the catcher and get the pitcher during her wind up. You are so correct. The arm muscles in #2 are awesome. Dave - Fuzzy Hashing makes me itch.

You were behind the catcher, as in on the field? HMMM, I haven't tried that. Even though I have field access, I always shoot through the backstop if it's accessible. I still get good pics of the pitchers.

More info | With all the distraction going on during a game (warmups too) I shot this sequence while standing on the field behind the plate in the first photo. Then I got risky - I told the catcher - don't MISS! I put my lens right over her right shoulder!! Of course I trust the two (pitcher and catcher) very much.

Surprised they let you do it that close, I shoot from back by the fence behind them but not close to the catcher. Nice Magic but - IMHO the last image your posted is crying out for a little "Cloning Love" from photoshop. The player that just entering the frame from the left side can be cloned out so easily...

As a matter of fact - the catcher made a game of it and pertended to miss!! When I was playing my first year in college I would make a game out of my coach every time he walked behind me and not paying attention, a ball thrown my way I'd wait to the last second to move and catch it while he dove seeing it coming out the corner of his eye or my reaction, good times. Same concept, though as a coach now I don't think I trust my pitchers/catchers in baseball to be too close to them. I used to have the marbles but I took some chin music in pro ball that I started being smarter and moved back farther (the upgrade in lens helped though so being too close was impossible).
