The photos could use some cropping and adjustments in composition though.

Thanks for looking and the comments, not sure I agree about the cropping as from experiance the skimmers like to see where they have come from and where they were going to.

Who cares what the skimmers think? They don't know what makes a good photo. That's like going up to a skimmer and telling them that cutbacks on a wave aren't as cool as getting air.

That's perfectly understandable, but you shouldn't sacrifice your work. In many industries, that is considered selling out.

IMO you could crop a little tighter and still have the wide-angle view that is more common with board sports, simply going to a 4x5 or faux panoramic format would help
