My wife just gave birth to our daughter on 3/19. This is the first pic of her that I had time to PP a little. I figured I'm going to be doing a lot of this in the future so some CC would be a good place to start. Also, any pointers not related to this picture, but concerning child photography, would be appreciated. Thank You

Congrats on the new baby :-) Looks like you have a bit of sensor dust in the bottom left hand corner.

:D Too funny - it REALLY looks like sensor dust on my screen. I thought it seemed odd that there was none anywhere else but that corner

Great composition but it all seems too soft and OOF. Would like to see the eyes sparkle with some sharp focusing. Also the whites seem too white. Can't see any definition in the clothing, blankets, etc. Also my monitor shows the whites to have a light pink cast. Intentional? Sorry to pick it apart.

thanks for the cc. I had to raise the brightness to clean up the babys skin complection. I think that's why the whites are so bright. the pink cast is there because I put a warming filter on it to tone the overall brightness down.
I agree with you on the definition on the clothing. Again, I think the brightening washed out a lot of detail but I figured the face was the focal point so I let it slide.
I'll be taking more pics in the future for sure so I'll keep all these things in mind. thank you for the observations.
