Gotta love that BB price for the 50D. $1799? I want some of what they're smoking!

No kidding. I figured that price would at least include the EF-S 18-200.

That's the canadian bestbuy website so $1799 is in CDN dollars.

So thats like $1450 US. Pretty much on par with the cost in the states depending on what lens is coupled with it.

I hate how the Canadian dollar is sucking so badly right now, it use to be at 1.06 over the US dollar. I was going down to the US buying and buying, now no more!! :(

Shouldn't the Rebel series be in the lower price range? I mean, I thought that is why Canon made the Rebel series of Digital SLRs. For the low budget photographers. I mean the Rebel SLRs are great. But why so much money?

It's all relative. The Rebels are less pricey than the other Canons, generally speaking (the DSLR's that is).

Wow, BB is smoking some serious stuff there. Aden is selling it w/18-55 plus a 4GB SDHC card and a Canon/Tamrac gadget bag as a pre-order bonus for $1089.99CAD

Realize that these are only pre-order prices and BB will have incentives sooner than most to lower their price vs. others to flood the market. It is only a $10.00 difference minus the SD card and bag. BB will have better incentives such as lens combos at great prices. You can't buy CS though...

I would have to disagree. BB always has prices jacked up higher than other photo stores and it`s the same with other electronics too. Between BB and Aden in regards to the 50D with an 18-200 lens there is a $300 price difference.

Well, you're getting HD video and high ISO performance that looks like it may rival the 50D so the T1i Rebel is still a "budget" offering in many senses. Besides, this particular Rebel appears to be a direct competitor to a certain Nikon offering but at a lower price.

In my area BB runs hundreds of dollars higher than B&H or Adorama. Their 55-250 is around $375 or was the last time I looked.

Hey all,

Will the T1i have a micro lens adjustment feature like the 50D?

Wouldn't that be nice, but I haven't read anything about it having that capability.

I don't believe so. Canon is holding back some of their fancy-pants features for just the 50D so they can still sell 50Ds.
