Hey all,

Will the T1i have a micro lens adjustment feature like the 50D?

Gary W.

There's no indication that microAdjustment is included.

By the way, the owner's manual has been released

and there's a new comparison of the T1i/500D to the D90 on my blog

Shouldn't the Rebel series be in the lower price range? I mean, I thought that is why Canon made the Rebel series of Digital SLRs. For the low budget photographers. I mean the Rebel SLRs are great. But why so much money?

If you don't need video, get an XSi/450D. If you are on a budget and want an entry level, the XS/1000D is the ticket.

Considering the only other Canon DSLR with video at the moment is the $3000 5Dmk2, this is a pretty good bargain. It's cheaper then the NIkon D90 as well.

Canon is giving lots of choises with price in mind.

I really wonder how much the 60D will cost, assuming that I will have video (otherwise how will it be much different from the 40D/50D?.. it needs a "breakthrough".

I would settle for 10fps as a nice little breakthrough. ;)

I'd say around 1,500... maybe something to compete with the D300... D400?

Look around if that's what they are saying, cause the MSRP is (external link);
• Body only: £869.99
• Kit: €969.99 (with 18-55 mm IS lens)
• Kit: €1399.99 (with 18-200 mm IS lens)

When the XSi/450D vs 40D I saw the same thing. But when "real world" prices took effect it drove the price down to where it should be.

Can't wait to get the T1i! It will be my first DSLR. I'm studying the instruction manual so I'll be ready to go. I was hoping Canon would add a quick control dial to the back, but I'm still thrilled with the new specs.

It's going to be hard, but I am going to hold off a few weeks. Been burned before. I'll wait to see if ERR99 crops up, or focusing issues, or something else not working right. Cause sure as hell, if 1 out of a hundred has a problem, that's the one that they ship to me. :p

I have the same curse with consumer electronics. What's ERR99?

ERR99 is a maddening little nothing that Canon uses to describe anything they just don't know what it is. If you get one though, you have to turn it off, then back on, maybe pull the batteries, maybe even the little button battery and wait 2 minutes. It's infuriating. It could mean the CF card needs formatting, the lens might be loose or the contacts dirty, or any of a number of other things. My new 40D started getting them after a week or so, then it go so bad over the next few months I needed to send it in to get fixed. They replaced the mother board and sent it back, and I still got ERR99 for months, on and off. Now, it seems to have gone away, since I haven't gotten one in the last 15,000 shots or so.

My own opinion is, nobody knows what an ERR99 really is. :)

I hope you will post your "real-world" impressions of it. I am quite interested in what it can do for the price. I doubt that I will get one because it have become accustomed to the controls on my 30D and like them a lot. Nonetheless, I still think that the T1i will be a wonderful camera if it is anything like the XSi (which I used to own and sold on this forum when I bought my used 30D on this forum. This forum is addictive!!)

Mitch, thanks for the info! Hope your ERR99 days are behind you.

Marci, I'm sure I won't be the first one on the forum to get the T1i, but I'll gladly post my impressions of it. Yes, this forum is addictive. I just joined this week and I'm really enjoying it!

Good move! It's disgusting how new cameras are now shipped with all sorts of annoying issues. Have you read the thread dealing with Mark III and getting it repaired and upgraded? If I were a professional, I'd be livid.
