I ordered mine from pcconnection.com yesterday. I should be getting it tomorrow based on the tracking information. Can't wait! They still have more in stock. Ships the same day and I also picked regular ground for free and it still shipped out the same day.

We got it to my store yesterday... and im actually feeling confident about this one. The screen is killer, the ergonomics is better and the logical placement of the buttons and such is an big steg forwards. No more putting a gun to your head over the live-view-function over 1000d and 450d.

Also the moviemode is interesting. YOU CAN autofocus AND MF during recording AND exposurecompensate... which imo is an killer-feature.

May i say that the D90s Dmovie is an joke compared to the sweetness of canontech... The d90s qual SUCKED majorly when we compared it with the 500D on one of our Samsung 866 46" FullHD-sets.

Does this mean that I can use a zoom lens on it like my 70-200 utilising the full range of the zoom or am I stuck to leaving a prime on it during video mode?

Question: Ive had a Rebel XT for about 3 years now, looking to purchase the T1i..
Will my Accessories fit on the T1i?
Battery Grip. Modified TC-Remote.
will the XT batteries work with a T1i?
I'll be doing some Traveling in August. and I know I wont be able to save up in time for a 5d mkII. I really like the idea of shooting video with my slr. less gear for me to carry. I love my Rebel but yes Im ready to move up to something better.

Does the 500d have built in IS? Because when I was testing it I thought it was very smooth and non-shacky...

The kitlenses these days have IS built in, so that's probably what you noticed.

@rondo - I believe the battery system was changed with the 450D/XSi, so XT batteries probably won't work.
For the other accessories I wouldn't know.
But if you want to buy a 5D2 in the near future anyway, I'd stick with the XT for just a while longer, so the money can go there instead of a step-up.

I just got mine this afternoon. I'm loving it so far. The LCD is incredible.
Sample pics will come soon as I get some time to go somewhere.
It uses LP-E5 Batteries.
BG-E5 grip is the same one used on here.

Picked mines up today also.

Here's a sample shot I took at 3200 ISO. I ran it through noise ninja at default settings, and came out great. no apparent loss of detail, super clean.

Although I have already ordered a 1D MkIIn instead of this camera, I still want to see some shots from it. I have one of those bank accounts that keeps refilling itself every month and I might buy one next month if the results look good. ;)

I'd like to see the out of the box shot to the one posted above though. That looks better than anything I could do with Neat Image.

First one is a real quick crummy out of the box, P mode 3200 iso in a dark room. 1/60 4.5

Second is a 100% crop of it.
