More pics. I'm loving this flash. About time Canon came out with something to match Nikon's SB-400. Click on pics for more options.

That is a really nice form factor, and big kudos to Canon for giving it tilt.

This looks pretty neat, often all I need is a little bit of light for fill on the face and generally leave it set at 1 2/3" or 2 stops under the cameras exposure, a diffuser attachment would be nice though.

I used the old version of the Demb diffuser made for the Nikon SB-400 on the 270EX. It's the perfect width and folds back neatly onto the top of the flash for storage. This old version doesn't use a velcro strap like the new one, which is why you see the rubber bands:

I've ordered the new version for the 270EX. I'm quite sure that it will fit. I will keep you posted here.

Anyone have some pictures they have taken with this lens? Just this lens, no Strobist stuff. I am interested in how it would be for on camera...

sabesh,

That looks great on the flash and has a world of potential. What is the exact model # for the 270?

Bill,

It's actually meant for the Nikon SB-400. However, it works fine with the 270EX:

Mine arrived yesterday. I plan on using it as a fill flash for my 5DmkII, instead of lugging around my 580EX all the time.

will this make a good "just in case" flash to keep in the bag for my 5d2, when i want to travel lightweight and not carry a huge flash around LOL

on paper it seems quite promising

That's what I'm thinking. It's small enough that you could always have it with you, instead of having to schlepp a 580EX around. The bust for me is there are no manual controls! There are a couple of other cameras I would have liked to use this on.

Small flashes that offer tilt are a rare breed. Metz has one, IIRC.
