Album Vendor Suggestion - 400 pages?

I have a client who would like to order an album containing all of their proofs. The catch is that we delivered just shy of 2000 proofs from this event and they want to keep it to around 4 photographs per page... We are estimating 300-400 pages total.

Does anyone know a book vendor who can do that high of a page count?

Naturally we are trying to get them to narrow it down but we want to be prepared with a solution.

Does it have to be all in one proof book? Why not break it up into 2 or 3? If they object, just tell them that photographers normally don't deliver 2000 proof images and the best solution is to give them more than 1 proof book.

Oh, as an fyi - out of curiosity I wanted to see if WHCC could do this job. It would be a 500 page spiral bound proof book with 4 images per. If you want to know how much it would cost, send me a PM. I can tell you, with almost 100% certainty, that your client probably didn't pay you enough for you to get this for them.

Thanks for your help. The client is covering the entire cost of the book so fortunately we aren't on the hook for any of it. It looks like Blurb might also be an option as their options appear to go up to 440 pages.

Was it a Harry Potter themed wedding or something?

Do you mean a proof book, with images laid out in a simple grid, or a finished album with full processed images and a nice layout? My lab offers spiral bound 8x12 or 10x15" photographic pages, I usually put 24 images on a 10x10" page. That would make an 85 page book. They're not made to last though, a bound book would be better.

Multiple volumes will probably be the best idea, a 400 page book would be unwieldy.

The layout with be proof-book style but they are looking for a bound book quality. Blurb seems to be the only folks who will touch that kind of page quantity.

I'm not familiar with Blurb. Does Blurb automatically create the page layouts for you? Like, can you batch upload images and then Blurb takes care of arranging 4 images per page in the order that they were uploaded?

Blurb might actually have that feature, but I was just going to use Photoshop. The Automate > Contact Sheet feature has worked for me in the past.
