We had a party this past weekend for my dad(50) and my grandpa(65).
We suprised them with about 40 members of our family and a fish fry...here are the shots.
C&C is appreciated.

My critique in general is that the focal length [really i mean the field of view] seems somehow awkward--too tight for many of the shots. Perhaps this is me; and perhaps it's an illusion pushed by the small size of the photos. Could you have shot wider than this?

#2 is very cute. and bringing focus to the eyes is good, but cutting off the head on three sides [also cutting across the bottom lip] is awkward and harsh--not befitting of a baby photo usually.

#1,4,5 and 7 seem a little overexposed--or rather, harshly lit. Highlights seem blown. how were you lighting this? on camera flash?

#8 is great. I like it. The best case scenario would have the background a little cleaner, but we can't always define what the scene is, I know.

I could have shot wider, however, I had just recieved my 70-200 f4L in the mail that day and i was anxious to use it.
Cutting off of the 3 sides of the baby was not intentional, could be the 70-200 to blame for that as well.
I lit the entire thing with off camera flash in opposite corners of the room, bounced off the ceiling. It was my first time with two flashes bounced so it was a learning experience for sure.

Yes I shot 100% RAW. I am also getting used to using UFRAW on G.I.M.P., so that could be editing error on the overexposure of the shots.

Thanks guys, keep em coming!
