So, i decided to go with the lowpro setup
But i need to get pictures of the inside of:
http://products.lowepro.com …/Utility-Case,2071,43.htm (external link)
utility Case

And Which pouch will fit a 580 (i know it will fit a 430 also lol), or which will hold both?

I know it has dimensions on the website, but they arent always usable dimensions.

also will the toploader 65 fit a gripped 40d with 24-70?

or is the thinktank that much better? I like it since the stuff slides on the belt, alot lol and it looks like the lowepro stuff can be used on that belt as well (unless im wrong)

Lowepro cases tend to be understated on the inside dimension by about 1/4" or so. For example I can easily fit 100mm f/2 and the Kenko 1.4x mounted on the lens, with hood reversed on the front and front and rear caps (4.75" x 3.5"), in the Lens Case 1 (5" x 3.25") with room to spare with maybe about 1/2" more length available.

i just built my belt/harness system and got the SlipLock 60AW which fits both my 580EXII or 1 speedlite and my two CP-E4 battery packs.

i think the lowepro cases system can fit on the thinktank belts/harness, i started with the lowepro simply because i had most of the cases and importing was the only option for thinktank and it was going to cost way to much, but knowing me i will probably get the thinktank belt/harness at some point.

what else did you select on the belt system you were shooting for?

my setup i want it this:
S&F deluxe
S&F shoulder harness
Toploader 65 on the left side for 40d gripped and 24-70L
utility case in the rear
flash case on each shoulder (one used for batteries one for spare flash)
lens case 3 for 70-200 2.8

i think thats it, but im not sure. im still debating if i need anything else, but i think the utility pack will hold hte batteries etc etc i need for hte camera, and memory cards, lens pen all that ish.

th 1dmk3 will haev the 300 2.8 mounted, and swap out for the 70-200 if i need it with a strap on the 300.

I started out with the LowePro system and switched to the TT belt system, I find the TT belt is more comfortable and built quality is great. I started with this set up http://www.thinktankphoto.com/ttp_product_MdlrSet.php (external link) and the Pro Speed Belt not the Skin Belt (no padding)

I'm in a similar dilemma and would love to hear the answer as well. What are the pros and cons of Lowepro vs. ThinkTanks belt system?

How does the Toploader fit on the belt? I've heard that the attachment point is too low on the pack causing the top to tip away from the belt making it uncomfortable.

There are videos of Think Tank's Modulus and Skin belt systems on YouTube....

Modulus - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TRLGRDv7ik (external link)
Skin - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-M2mQiMSa8s&NR=1 (external link)
Skin - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIs9CSGa9lY (external link)

I've been looking into belt systems, only using web research and I'm leaning towards the Skin Set in preference to the Modulus. You will find reviews and blogs on these systems with a Google search. Example....

I don't have any photos of LowePro, but here are a few photos I took of my new ThinkTank system for comparison. I hope they help, if you need more photos, just let me know.
