I looked but didnt find anything as far as a template to use when posting in the Marketplace; specifically the sell forum.

I have sold some stuff recently and noticed that all my posts I ended up editing to add some info I forgot or people asked later.

Is there a template with all the fields that should be used on the forum right now? Like a guide of what to add to your post. Example for a lens.

Lens Model: (Include make and model ie. Canon EF 70-200F4L)

Lens Date Code if applicable: (ie. UV7056)

Lens Body Condition: (ie. great condition one small scratch)

Lens Glass Condition: (ie. clean glass no scratches dust or fungus)

Sale Includes: (ie. Box, paperwork, lens, both caps, soft pouch)

Price: (ie. $400 plus fees and shipping)

Payments Accepted: (ie. paypal or google checkout)

Possible Trades: (ie. Xti or N/A)

Shipping Methods Available (Ships From): (ie. FedEx or UPS from 60614)

Shipping Available To: (ie. US Only or Worldwide)

Item location: (ie. Chicago, IL)

Best Contact Method: (ie. PM or E-mail)

Feedback: (ie. post link to POTN feedback or ebay ect.)

Reason for selling: (ie. upgrading, downsizing, moved to FF ect.)

Photos:

Their might be more to add and would be a different one for bodies accessories ect. but I thought it might be helpful. Have a sticky or something with a blank version of the above for people to copy and paste to help the fill in the info needed.

Just a thought.

Heck, you can't even get them to put their location on the sell forum.
Good idea though, design one and I'll use it next time I sell.
Don't forget to add location to the form.

Added the item location, thanks I forgot about that. Im sure some people would use it and help the general chaos in the sell forum as far as details for selling goes but wasnt sure on POTN's stance on it.

I know they try to stay out of any liabilty on the marketplace section and wasnt sure thier views on it. Im happy to make them but dont want to waste my time to make them if they will never get used.

If you want to make some up, and there's an interest in using them, we'll sticky the thread.

I dont know the best way to make these a template so people can use them other than quoting those posts, but then it shows up as a quote. Im sure one of the grand pubas will have a better solution.

Example of the lens edition in use here: https://photography-on-the.net …t=671693&highlight=layout
None of the normal questions that pop up in the normal for sale threads on where its located whats the date code ect.

It works pretty well just doing cut & paste on notepad.
It would be nice if you could 'tab' to the next space.
Keep up the good work, I'm with you all the way.

In this post and the last are the three templates I made and with Damphyne's suggestion have put into .txt documents. I tested it and it works pretty easy just open the attachment and type in your info and then cut and paste. Well have to see what the powers that be think.

Looks great to me. Many thanks for putting these together - they'll be a great help for people in constructing their ads.

Now we just need to find the right place for them to live...

Good job silvrr.
I have a saying, "Seems like people always have a good idea for someone else to do."
I kinda thought this was where this was going.
Happy to say, I was wrong this time.
I'll be using this form the next item I put up something for sale.

I've been on forums where when you click 'post' in the buy and sell section, the message box already contains the 'template' in the message box.

Something like that would be wonderful. However, I have the computer skills to log into this forum and make posts. Sometimes my pictures even show up!

Someone with forum coding knowledge and the ability to do so would have to do that.

In the mean time these work with little extra effort.
