So who are the lucky dogs that will be in Melbourne this weekend? I envy each you that get to attend. We all hope they bring back a race to the states one day.

I work a bit over a mile from the track, and actually run around it at lunch a few times a week (well except for the 2 weeks its closed for the F1). I've never been and really want to, but it seems every year brings on a new way of preventing me from going, and this year is no exception. But the noise even from 1 mile away is amazing. There is always a special buzz around the place when the F1 is here, and this year it is increased as this week is the start of our australian football season.

Even on Monday when I was running I saw a high number of people walking around Albert Park with very nice large white lenses. Preparation I assume. Didn't stop me from wanting to mug them though!

Very interesting qualifying this morning (UK time that is!). The race should be a cracker. No Ferrari in top 6 and McLaren Mercedes @ 14/15th. Potentialy Hamilton dropping further down should he need a gearbox.Bring on the race.:D

Nice to see young Vettel in third and a change in the usual order on the grid.

Seems as though KERS is not such a wonderful idea so far?

Bigcol, I know you have not been to the event, but you know the area. Is it a good or bad track to shoot? All the recent F1 events I've been to recently seem to think fences designed to keep King Kong or Godzilla at bay are required and it ruins it for me.

Not in Melbourne but enjoyed the quali - very interesting from start to finish. Promises to be a good race too, I just hope they won't decide the results on paper... way too much protesting going on.

It was a good race. I contemplated going but it was too much of a hassle. Maybe next year.

Yeah it's fence city unfortunately. Takes 'em 3 weeks to put it in, and 2 weeks to take it down. But from what I can see there would be no areas at track level that are not fenced in with 15 foot wire fences with 3 foot concrete barriers. There might be a few good positions from some of the stands if you were lucky enough to get an end seat.

But it would be a fantastic place to shoot when the f1 isn't there though for wildlife & static car shoots etc.

Well duh... and Melbourne results they keep on changing - now Hamilton was disqualified for giving "misleading evidence" to the stewards and Trulli reinstated to third.

They can change the regulations, they can change the cars and they can add & remove tracks...

But the same idiots are still in charge.
