new to photography

i just got my 10-22mm ef-s the other week

we are running out to vegas for a few days; the only camera bag i have is small and cramped

would you even bother to take your kit lens (18-55mm)??? it will barely fit in the bag

Take the 10-22. The Vegas Strip is crammed with hotels. You'll be happy that you have the wide angle available to you. Besides your image IQ will be so much better.

An UWA lens is a helluva lot of fun in Vegas...

Why wouldn't you take both and put the second lens in another bag with lots of bubble wrap and a towel? Seriously, having less than 3 lenses on an outing for me is like cutting an arm off.
