I've read the TC Sticky and did a search but didn't find any info. on the 75-300
being compatable with any TC's. I see an e-bay store offers this lens in kit form with a Bower 2x TC. Anyone tried this or any other TC.

Adding a 2x TC would make you lose 2 stops, so your lens would be a F11. That means absolutely no autofocus. So you can use it as a mediocre, dark, 600mm manual focus lens, but it will not be good. If you add a 2x TC to that lens it becomes a 150-600 f/8-11. The problem is that all but the 1D series of bodies can only AutoFocus with a lens that is f/5.6 or faster (the 1D's can still autofocus an f/8 lens). So, by adding the TC you will lose AF capabilities of the lens. If you can and want to manually focus the lens will still "work". Alan "NuReality" Fronshtein
