Anyone have any ideas why its been discontinued or if there is a replacement unit available in its place? Its listed on sale on one site, and discontinued at B&H.

I had thought this was the standard for CPF, has it been upgraded?

It is my understanding that the SMC line has been replaced by their digital line such the Digital Pro and HD versions.

Unfortunately, the SHMC has absolutely the best transmission of all of the Hoya line! It transmits 99.7% of the light. The most recent HD line gets very close, at 99.35% transmission, but the Digital line is a paltry 97%...the same level as the decade old HMC line!
