Yesterday we had feezing cold weather, high winds and rain with about half an hour of sunshine. It did not stop the racing or me being trackside. Here are just a few samples from the day.

Lemon squeeze. Fiat Punto Abarth 1800 racing over here from Ireland. These boys run very fast, very close, but the racing is clean:

What do you do with old Citroen 2CV's? You race prepare them and hammer around the circuit as though your life depended on it:

And then there is the venerable Formula Ford 2000 championship. All of the classic races are good events, with lots of action:

Classic Formula Fords, 1600cc, the youngest car was built in 1981. This shot was taken from a new spot I was testing out where I am below the level of the track as they come out of a dip. I like the effect, I hope you do:

K&N Filters sponsored Saloons. Always a mixture, including this nice Opel V8 4.6 which had a few reliability issues during the day, but not before I managed to get some nice shots of it in action:

I must not forget the main reason why I was there. the Legends. This is some of my favourite racing and I will post a few more action shots in another post later, including the obligatory mishaps.

They are all great as usual. My favorites are; the yellow Fiat that must be increasing the pucker factor of the silver/blue one behind him, and the low shot on the Formula Ford.

Bless the recently fallen and their family and friends.
I have a Cannon with me at all times. You can't take the shot if you don't have something with which to shoot.

Ken

Great shots as usual, I like the effect of the low level shot too. The legends are strange cars but look like a blast to drive. Have you ever taken any shots from the Uniroyal Fun Race, i think they use VW Beetles for that. Was going to try to get to Snetterton yesterday to shoot them but didn't make it.

Nice work

Cheers
Nigel

Great shots as usual Ken, it looks a bit damp and cold in the first ones, I haven't seen the 2cv's racing for a few years now but it still looks like close racing;)

Do you know if the Legends are coming to Croft this year?

Cheers
Ian

June 25th and 26th at Croft for the Corgi Championship and August the 27th for the mad Scots. Those Irish boys in the Fiats were racing door to door and rarely had four wheels on the ground.

You did your usual outstanding job!

feezing cold weather, high winds and rain with about half an hour of sunshine.

Let's remember that those days are the most fun to be on the track! 90 degrees with that long underwear on... ;-)a

Excellent shots as usual Ken. I'm a big fan of the low angle shots, and that classic formula ford is a fine example. The separation of the car from the background and bokeh is extremely effective.

Cheers,

Simon.

Hi Simon. I have always loved working on the low angle shots. I started doing that type of shot back in the early eighties. The problem then was I never really had the right sort of lenses, not enough reach, not fast enough, etc. Now I spend a lot of time finding the right places at the circuits to get that really low, low angle and it amazes me I never see anyone else shoot from the same spots I discover.

Here's another from that same location which I like. I would have preferred the car behind to be out to the right a touch more, but I couldn't find two racing that would oblige.

Nice work as always Kenny. I particularly like the low shot #4. Top banana.

We do nothing by halves, have two Europa chasing each other for quite a while.

Great shots Kenny - so are the photos of the Legend in the wall - don't recall ever seeing Citroen 2CV's racing before - will have to look out for that.
