Gallery questions

I feel it's time for me to promote my work to galleries in NYC. I've had some showings in the boro's and in NJ, but I think we can agree that Manhattan is still the king. Anyway, what kind of advice can ya'll give? Should I be showing a book, or matted prints? I'm figuring on a book at first, it'll be easier (and cheaper), and I figure I'd print anything that someone shows interest in, bring it back and show them the final product.
